Ultra Marathon Man

As the title says I am now an accomplished ultra marathon runner who, at the age of 27 years, has started to achieve some ultra running credentials. I will begin with my adventure across the United States of America where I ran from Huntington Beach, California (West Coast), all the way to Central Park New York City (East Coast). The run started on June 14th 2007 and finally finished on September 16th 2007 in the Big Apple, covering just over 3000 miles through some of the toughest terrains in the world, also in the American summer heat.

I have many more ambitious goals to achieve whilst covering the world by foot. The following countries WILL be covered: America (completed summer 2007), Scotland (completed summer 2008) France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, East Russia, East Asia, Canada and Ireland.

As well as running across countries I will also be competing in some of the most extreme races in the world that have intrigued me over the years. The extreme races range from running across Death Valley to the North Pole Marathon. Altogether there are 24 extreme races which I will compete in over the coming years.

Charities
Every country I run across or extreme race I compete in will be helping me raise money for children’s charities. The following charities below are just a few that I have worked with on previous challenges:

Bryan Gunn Leukaemia Appeal

Two-year-old Francesca, the daughter of one of Norwich City FC's greatest players Bryan Gunn, died from leukaemia in the autumn of 1992. Bryan decided to set up the Leukaemia Appeal with the Dove Trust in April 1993. I believe a disease that has taken the lives of children needs charities like Bryan's. These charities help raise awareness and try to find a cure to stop the suffering. They also provide equipment and education so children and their families can deal better with the disease.

RadioBroadlandKidz

RadioBroadlandKidz raises money to help disadvantaged youngsters in Norfolk and North Suffolk. The charity works with local organisations to improve young people’s opportunity, independence, ability, choice and confidence.

MEND

The MEND Programme is a fun, effective and practical lifestyle solution focused on families with overweight or obese children. The key to its success is an integrated approach, combining all of the elements known to both treat obesity effectively and ensure long lasting results.
